Short answer: We cook outdoors only. If rain is possible, provide a tent, covered patio or awning for the chef. To cancel for weather, give at least 48 hours' notice.
Why we cook outdoors
A hibachi grill produces high heat, smoke and open flames, so for safety every HibachiPassion party is cooked outside. Guests can still eat indoors — the chef cooks just outside and the food is served to your table.
Rain
If rain is in the forecast, set up a canopy tent, use a covered patio or an awning. We can cook under tents and patios as long as the chef can stay dry. Tables can go in a garage, sunroom or under a second tent.
Summer heat
July and August evenings in Columbus are warm and humid. Book a 6:00 pm or later start, provide shade for guests and plenty of water.
Spring and fall chill
April, May, September and October are wonderful hibachi months in Central Ohio. Patio heaters or a fire pit keep guests comfortable after sunset, and the grill itself adds warmth near the chef.
Cancelling or rescheduling
You are responsible for deciding whether to cancel for inclement weather. We need at least 48 hours' notice for cancellations and reschedules; otherwise a $200 fee applies. Check the forecast a few days ahead and call us if you're unsure.
